We're just a month away to the opening of my first art show! The painting is done and I suddenly feel a little nervous about the actual logistics about putting on an exhibit - the labeling, pricing, framing, mounting, and also planning for the opening reception (4-6 pm on Oct 5 - all are welcome). Any advice or recommendations? I'm all ears!
I know it's just a little exhibit in a little cafe but it sure feels like a big deal to me. In all honesty, I'd be thrilled just to make a single sale (at least somebody likes the art!). But the bigger thrill would be the satisfaction of making a meaningful contribution to the McKaig Nature Education Center, where I spend happy times walking their quiet and lovely trails. A portion of the proceeds from this show will go to them, in gratitude for this wonderful, free community resource.
If you are nearby, I invite you to visit my show in October and tell me what you think! I welcome all feedback - even the less than positive ones (I promise I won't crumble) - this is an exercise in growth and learning. Who knows, if the whole experience leaves me energized and inspired (as opposed to ragged and depressed!), I may just be encouraged to do it all again sometime......
Hope to see you there!
