New year, new goals

Happy 2025! With my first art exhibition coming up in October (exciting and terrifying all at once), I figured this would be a great time to resurrect my blog. I've always been a little wary of 'advertising' my work commercially - art is a pleasure I guard carefully. There is no world in which I would sacrifice the joy of it for the sake of monetary gain, which is one reason why I am reluctant to take on further commissions as I find my own voice and style.

So why an exhibition, you ask? It sure ain't for the money or the pats on the back! It's really about putting on my big girl pants, facing my fears, and letting more of the world see (and react to) my art. One does not improve without feedback and response. It's also just in the spirit of sharing - if it brings me joy, hopefully it does the same for others!

The pieces for this exhibition will be primarily inspired by my love for nature, which is why I will be donating a portion of the show's proceeds to McKaig Nature Education Center, a local preserve that is open and free to all, and a place that I frequent and love.
