"Wait, did you actually paint THAT?!"

Yam Seng, 8"x12", acrylic (2020)

So this new art hobby of mine seems to have taken my friends and family by surprise...... in truth, it's not technically 'new'. Here's the story of my life - I am a HUGE procrastinator. I am Jedi Master of procrastinator Jedis. This little hobby started 30-odd years ago. I always start off with naively overeager enthusiasm (just like young Luke Skywalker in 'A New Hope'). I dropped some serious ching on all manner of art supplies - paints, easels, brushes, even those specialty pencil-shaped rolled paper thingies used for blending pencil drawings (because, you know, real artists don't blend shades with something as rudimentary as their own fingertip).

Needless to say, my efforts stalled, say, 29-odd years ago. All that fancy art stuff got stuffed into a box and somehow disappeared into the Phantom Zone (sorry, mixing fictional universe lore here) until mysteriously reappearing amidst our recent move from New Jersey to Pennsylvania this past summer. Perfect timing - what better way to spend my days of unemployment and mid-life crisis than pursuing a new hobby? Or in this case, a really old hobby....

If you're reading this, thanks for showing interest and making me feel like a somebody - hope you enjoy browsing my work!
